Two-piece maple back with medium flame. Spruce front with even grain. Ebony fingerboard, chin rest and tailpiece and rosewood pegs. Mid-orange brown oil varnish. Length of back; 35.3 cm String length 32.7 cm. Stop length 19.6 cm.
Timothy J Spencer originally studied at ‘The Welsh School of Violin Making’ near Cardiff. He made a number of instruments in Wales before moving to Hong Kong to become a respected maker and repairer. He is co-founder of Hong Kong Strings Ltd in 1999 where he still works.
