NEW PS/ 136 ‘Premier Select’  4/4 violin. Heritage Series Guarneri ‘Il Cannone’ (1742) VI011′.   Labels: Joseph Guarnerius fecet Cremone Anno 1742. Premier Select No. 136. (Instrument only). It has a wriiten certificate of origin from The Soundpost.  With Larsen Il Cannone strings.

Professional player comment: ‘Even tone across the ranges, with good projection. Bright and clear with a pleasing sweetness, especially in the higher register.’


Two-piece maple back with narrow grain  and highly figured. With matching ribs and scroll.  Spruce front. Antiqued finish of hand-applied oil varnish. Ebony fingerboard. Rosewood pegs, tailpiece (both with Parisian eye) and chinrest (Guarneri model).  Length of back; 35.6cm String length 32.9cm.  Stop length 19.7 cm.

This instrumnet is from  ‘Heritage’ series (from The Soundpost) and is a copy of ‘The most famous violin in the world.’ The original instrument was given to the young Paganini by General Pino and remained Paganini’s only concert instrument for the rest of his life.
